Location Remote (US and Canada) Job Summary In this role as an Audio Engineer supporting AI Training and evaluation initiatives, you will apply your expertise in audio quality assurance, restoration, and annotation to help improve next-generation AI systems. Your work will shape how models learn, reason, and process high-quality audio data through real-world input and evaluation workflows. This is an hourly-paid contract opportunity, not a traditional full-time audio engineering position. Contributors will work on project-based AI training tasks while collaborating remotely with distributed teams in a flexible work environment. No prior AI experience is required — your audio engineering expertise is what matters. Key Responsibilities Conduct detailed quality assurance reviews of audio recordings, identifying and documenting artifacts, distortions, or anomalies. Contribute to AI training and evaluation projects through audio assessment tasks, response evaluation, annotation, and related workflows. Assess the severity of audio issues and classify findings accurately for AI model training purposes. Perform audio cleanup, restoration, and editing tasks to ensure datasets meet professional quality standards. Annotate audio and video data with clear, concise notes to support AI and machine learning development. Participate in labeling, review, and quality control processes for large-scale media datasets. Apply audio engineering expertise to identify workflow improvements and contribute best practices to the team. Collaborate effectively with distributed teams while maintaining high standards for accuracy and consistency. Required Skills and Qualifications Professional monitoring setup, including studio monitors or high-end headphones suitable for critical listening tasks. Strong written and verbal English communication skills for precise issue reporting and team collaboration. Deep understanding of audio quality assurance processes and artifact detection methodologies. Experience with audio restoration, cleanup, and editing workflows using industry-standard tools. Ability to provide objective, detailed, and actionable feedback for audio data improvement. Familiarity with data annotation and quality control workflows for AI, machine learning, or media projects. Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently in a remote environment. Strong organizational and time management skills with commitment to high-quality deliverables. Preferred Qualifications Background in audio or video data labeling for machine learning or AI development. Experience collaborating within distributed audio engineering or media production teams. Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in fast-paced environments. Familiarity with AI model evaluation or AI training-related audio tasks is a plus.
